  • Making Maps Easy to Read
"These WWW pages summarise a research project that set out to discover some of the factors that make maps easy to read and to use. This research on cartographic communication is divided into five sections -

Relief: Depicting a Surface on a Map
    Map Typography
    Eye Movements & Maps
    Other Map Symbols
    Overview"

  • Mapping Symbols
"TCI has been actively involved in the production of AutoCAD maps for over 10 years and during that time we have developed and acquired a great number of mapping symbols. Our new mapping symbol library was based on this collection but has been enhanced and increased by the addition of over 1000 standard mapping symbols derived from leading public agencies and associations.

These sources include the US Bureau of Land Management, the US Geological Survey, the US Forest Service and the American Public Works Association".
